Objective

Use contextual research methods such as interviews, focus groups, contextual inquiry, surveys, cultural probes and questionnaires to uncover the culture of waste in Savannah, GA.

Final Direction

The team affinitized their insights and realized a lack of general education and awareness about proper waste management. With the idea of creating awareness in the foreground, the team developed an app prototype which they displayed at their final event. The app would create accessibility among the public for easy waste management advice. The app would also send users to the nearest recycling center which would decrease landfill waste.

Final Event

The team hosted an awards ceremony where they awarded their local stakeholders for their progressive work in Savannah. The ceremony resulted in a discussion between like-minded people about the current waste situation.
